Q. Where are you employed? What is your Title?

Peoria Park District; Sports Coordinator

Q. What is your favorite part of your job?

I have the opportunity to create programs that I think will be popular in the community. I also get to work on projects to bring new and better facilities to Peoria.

Q. What do you consider to be your most valuable contribution to your organization for which you work?

I bring organization and prior knowledge and experience to my position that was not here in recent years.

Q. Given your career path, where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself in a supervisory role at a Park District.

Q. Do you have any words of advice/recommendations? a. for undergrads still searching for a major-would you recommend RST and why?, b. for the undergrads currently in the program c. for the senior currently looking for his/her first position.

a. For the undergrad students who are still searching for a major? Would you recommend RST? Why? Or why not? I would recommend RST if someone is interested in the field of leisure. The professors are very approachable and can help you decide if this is for you or what direction in RST you want to take yourself.
b. For the undergrad students currently in the RST department? Don't be complacent. Actively search out opportunities to enhance your education and make yourself more marketable to employers.
c. For the seniors currently looking for his/her first position? Be patient, sometimes it takes a little bit of time to find a job. While you search continue to do things to improve yourself in the eyes of a potential employer.
