Research
The research efforts of the faculty focus on understanding how leisure impacts the quality of life of individuals, families, and communities, and how
leisure contributes to healthy communities. Faculty research efforts revolve around the four themes of community, diversity, economic development, and
health and wellness. Collaborations with colleagues across the college and university, as well as with public and private partners, remain a high priority
as the department conducts socially relevant interdisciplinary research and seeks to increase external funding for recreation, sport, and tourism research.
