What are your general impressions of your studies and RST as a whole?
The RST program has been above and beyond my expectations. I have been mainly pleased with the assortment of classes
because they are in realms ranging from business and planning to human development and consumer culture. I believe that
knowledge in all areas and not solely your career field is vital for success in the future.
What has been your most interesting experience at the University of Illinois?
My favorite experiences at U of I have been listening to guest speakers that have come to talk in classes or at club
meetings. I think that it is truly inspiring to hear other peoples’ stories and to see how successful they have become,
especially when many of them are alumni of the university.
What are your post-graduation plans?
My ideal plan would be to become a corporate event planner/manager for a big company in Italy or somewhere in Europe.
Also, I would love to attend graduate school one day but I am not sure in what field yet.
What extracurricular activities/student organizations are you involved with?
I am highly involved in a club called AIESEC which offers a range of internships around the world. I am also involved
in Bulgarian Club and volunteering around the local community.
What do you like to do for fun?
My number one thing to do for fun is travel--I absolutely love seeing new places and being outside. I love to spend time
with my friends and family. I also enjoy taking photographs, going on runs, listening to music, eating, and reading books
in my free time.
Why would you recommend RST to others?
I would recommend RST to others because the major does not solely educate you in the recreation, sport, and tourism
fields. The program also provides knowledge of vital skills such as managing, planning, marketing, etc. Also, I would
recommend RST to others because the professors are genuinely passionate about educating and helping their students. Finally,
I like that most of the classes are small because it allows you to interact with your professor and other students on a more
personal level than you would in a 500- person lecture.
