What are your general impressions of your studies and RST as a whole?

I have really enjoyed my studies here at the University of Illinois. I have always had the goal to work in athletics some day and I feel as though RST provides me a great foundation to one day work in that field. Overall, I have tried to diversify my academic curriculum in order to make myself a well-rounded individual. Therefore, I have also completed the business minor. Additionally, I took many classes centered on preparing myself for law school. Overall, the combination of these courses and my RST courses made my curriculum very enjoyable because I was able to integrate all my interests into a personalized curriculum.

What has been your most interesting experience at the University of Illinois?

I have had many great experiences here at the University of Illinois. To pick one would not do justice to my college experience. I have been extremely involved on campus as a student. Perhaps the greatest overall experience I have had in college has been my work as a student manager for the University of Illinois men’s basketball team. I have really enjoyed the experience of being around something that I have a great passion for and it has helped lead me to many great opportunities.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I will be attending law school at the University of Illinois beginning in the fall of 2012. Moreover, I also plan to pursue my MBA while in law school.

What extracurricular activities/student organizations are you involved with?

I currently work as a student manager for the University of Illinois men’s basketball team. I am also involved in the Sports and Entertainment Law Society at the University of Illinois College of Law. Furthermore, I am also a James Scholar in the College of Applied Health Sciences and am a member of the James Scholar Advisory Board for the College of Applied Health Sciences.

What do you like to do for fun?

In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing sports, and participating in outdoor activities.

Why would you recommend RST and/or AHS to others?

I have really enjoyed my experience in both the College of Applied Health Sciences and in the Recreation, Sport and Tourism major. I would recommend RST and AHS to others because of the faculty and students. I have built many lasting relationships in the College of Applied Health Sciences, as well as the Recreation, Sport and Tourism major. Moreover, both the college and major provide many opportunities for students to get involved on campus and in their future career aspirations. Finally, I would recommend that students take courses that truly interest them and couple them with courses within the major to create a personalized curriculum that suits their interests.
